Since we have a wonderful, indoor arena, you can ride without concern about the time of day or the weather conditions. Only safe and dependable horses are used for lessons. Proper attire is required. Riding boots or sturdy shoes and long pants. Helmets are provided. Release forms are required.Lessons
Classes are conducted in our large 100 x 200 indoor arena or in our adjoining outdoor arena. Qualified instructors are present at all times to assist students in gaining or improving skills in horsemanship. Students of all ages (4 & up) learn how to groom, tack up horses, care for horses and handle horses safely.
Students can choose to ride English (Hunt Seat or Saddle Seat) or Western (Stock Seat). For the rider’s convenience and enjoyment, group classes are not divided by age or ability. This makes it possible for parents to ride at the same sessions as their children or for several children of different ages in the same family to ride in the same class. Students are assigned horses suitable for their skill level and, as skills improve, they may ride several different horses during any given 10 week session. Students interested in competition can receive intensive training for the horse show ring. Many of our students compete on the national level.
Students are encouraged to arrive for their lesson 15 minutes in advance of the class and be prepared to stay 15 minutes after the class. Riders will learn how to prepare the horse for the lesson and to put the horse up properly after the ride.
